Cam Jansen and the Scary Snake Mystery by David A. Adler
The story takes place in the city. The main characters are (Cam) Jennifer, Eric and Mrs. Jansen.
The book is mostly about trying to find a thief. The thief took the canvas bag off of Mrs. Jansen’s shoulder. The thief had run off with the canvas bag. There was this lady that had a snake in a bag too! The lady got blamed for eating a sandwich when the snake really ate the sandwich.
I liked the part when the lady put her hands on her hips and said hiss hiss to the snake. I think my brother would like this book because he likes solving mysteries.

BUNNICULA by Deborah and James Howe
This story takes place at the movies and at Bunnicula's house. The main characters are the dog, lady, the man and the rabbit.
This book is mostly about the lady and the man going to the movies and seeing a rabbit. The people brought the rabbit home with them. Their dog thought something was strange about the rabbit. Every time the people leave the house, the dog has to watch Bunnicula. At night Bunnicula’s eyes are red so the dog thinks he’s a vampire.
The part I like best is when Bunnicula’s eyes turned red at night.
Someone who likes mysteries would like this book especially if they like to figure out clues.

The Mossy Lake Mystery by Michele Torrey
The story takes place in the Town of Mossy Lake. Drake and Fossy are the main characters.
There are several mysteries in this book. In each story Drake and Fossy solve a mystery that is happening around the town of Mossy Lake. “The Evil Plot” is about a girl running for school president. She thinks her opponent is drawing mustaches on her posters and needs Drake and Fossy’s help to catch the person who did it. Using science they realized that the girl’s partner did it.
I liked when a girl’ cat got struck by static electricity.
I recommend this book for people who like science and mystery because they might like books that have two genres in it at the same time.

Bicycle Mystery by Gertrude Warner.
The story takes place outside. The main character is Aldens
The story is about a man named Aldens. He had 4 friends named Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny. They went bike riding every day. One by one they disappeared because a monster grab them. Aldens wondered what happened to his friends. Then the monster attacked Aldens.
I like the part when Aldens finds out he was tricked by his friend. It was funny.
My 2 friends Tireek and Will-quan will like this book. Tireek will like this book because he likes bikes. Will-quan will like it because it is funny.

The Case of the Phantom Frog by E. W. Hildick.
This story takes place in a school building. The characters are Willie, Wanda, and Joey Weil.
This story is about a kid who did experiments, and he mutated the phantom frog. The phantom frog was getting all of the kids scared. So the kids went to check out what can make the phantom frog turn back into a regular frog. At the end of the story they discovered that a white cloth was over the regular frog. I like the part when they investigated the school so they could find the phantom frog.
My mom, uncle, sister, nephew would like this book because it has details in it.

Rude Rowdy Rumors by Elizabeth Levy
This story takes place in Brain’s house and outside his house. The main characters are Brain, Penny and Mookie.
This book is about Brain trying to get his brother to play soccer with him. Brain pushed Penny’s friend into the mud. Mookie didn’t want the boys to fight so she got them to stop. And after Mookie’s friend was done fighting, Mookie went outside to play soccer.
I like the part when Brain tried to get his brother to play soccer with him so that Brain’s team could win.
I think people will like this book because it is interesting.
I think that my brother will like this book because my brother is always spreading rumors.

The case of the Barf Birthday
by Michele Torry
The story takes place at Drake’s house and at the hospital. The main characters are Drake, Nell and Zoë.
This story is about a girl named Zoë who drank a liquid like juice. Zoë’s friends came to her birthday party, and they ate chicken salad. When Drake and Nell find out how many people ate chicken salad, they then know who ate what. Drake and Nell are the ones who knew if there was bacteria in the food. The bacteria in the food is what made everyone sick.
The best part I liked is when Chole gives her sister a drink. Zoe calls it a heath shake, but it is made up of terrible stuff. When Zoe drinks it, she barfs. I think that my aunt would like it. My aunt likes funny things that make people sick.

Inspector Hopper by Doug Cushman
This story takes place in the grass in a backyard. Inspector Hopper McBugg is the main character.
The story has three mysteries. The one I like is “Ladybug is Missing.” Inspector Hopper is trying to find the ladybug so she can come home to Mr. Ladybug. I like the part when they find the ladybug.
A little student in third grade will like this book because this is a fun book to read.

Mike’s Mystery by Gertrude Chandler Warner
The story takes place at Mystery Ranch. The main characters are Henry and Violet.
The book is mostly about a boy named Henry who is trying to find the hat of Mike’s Father. But the mystery is that Mike doesn’t know who found his father’s hat and left it on his porch..
I think the thing I like best about the book is when Violet goes over Mike’s house and just tells him that her brother Henry left it on his porch, and another thing I like is when he rewards Violet and Henry with tea cakes.
My opinion is that my sister would like this book. The reason why I said my sister would like this book is because she loves to read mysteries.

The Face At The Window by Wolf Ecke
The story takes place in Mrs. Bloom’s house. The characters are Mrs. Bloom and Mrs. Lutter.
The book has 15 stories. Each chapter is a mystery. In the story “Crossed Lines,” Mrs. Bloom was cleaning her house. Then she wanted something to be delivered. But her phone was not working. So Mrs. Bloom went to the store. But when she was in there, villains robbed it. My favorite part was when the cops caught the thieves and took them right to jail.
My friends Malik and Tireek would really like this book because it is interesting and funny.

Dead Letter By Betsy Byars
The story takes place at a store where you buy coats. The main characters are Herculeah Jones and her best friend Meat.
One day Herculeah bought herself a new second hand coat and in the pocket she found a letter. She tried to find out who the person was that wrote the letter. When she found out whose coat it was, she found out the person had already died. So she said its time we become detectives to solve the mystery.
My favorite part was when the girl’s hair flew up when she felt the danger.
The people I think would like this book are the people who love mysteries because they like to solve things.

Something Queer in Rock-n-Roll by Elizabeth Levy
This story takes place at the pizza place. Gwen, Jill and Fletcher the dog are the main characters.
It is about this band that is wondering why all of a sudden Fletcher hates pizza. Then they started looking for clues. The dog was taken to a basement and continually fed pizza by a man. Later on the dog wouldn’t eat any more pizza and when the dog kept barking at a man in a french fry suit, the band knew he was the one who fed the dog the pizza. Mystery solved.
I like the part when they found the dog and then when they caught the person who made Fletcher hate pizza. My brother Nafeese would like this book because it is very funny.

The story takes place in Mary and Mike’s store
and in Jigsaw’s neighborhood. The main characters are
a boy named Jigsaw, and the store owners Mary and Mike.
This book is about someone stealing Mary’s brownies.
Jigsaw is a detective so he went on the case. Everyday
brownies were stolen from the store. Mike and Mary are on diets
so they say they could not be the thieves. Jigsaw wonders who
could be the brownie thief.
The part I liked the best was when Jigsaw found Mike
hiding behind a dumpster eating the brownies.
My mom would like this book. She’d like it because she loves mysteries.
The title of this book is The Curse Of The Cheese Pyramid by Geronimo Stilton.
This story takes place in New Mouse City and Egypt. The main characters are Geronimo and Ben, his nephew.
The book is about a mouse that thinks there is a curse in a pyramid. Geronimo and Professor SpitFur are trying to find out what’s the secret ingredient to make better air.
My favorite part is when Geronimo got sea sick. I think everyone would like this book.
Everyone would like this book because it is funny.

Author: Ron Roy
This story takes place in a zoo. Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are the main characters.
A baby Panda has been missing from the zoo, the kids are trying to go around, take notes, and find out who took the panda. They tell the police when they finally get the clues together. The kids and the police go to the thief’s house. They see the panda in the basement and the man gets arrested.
The book was interesting! I really liked the part when the baby panda was found. I think my friend and classmates, Dave Fine will like this book because she like books that have kids who solve the mystery.

The title of this book is Four Mice Deep in the Jungle
by Geronimo Stilton.
This story takes place in the jungle with four mice. The main characters are Geronimo Stilton and Penelope Poisonfur.
This book is about a mouse that went to the jungle because he was afraid of flying, dark, spiders, and snakes.
The part that I like was when he said I’m not afraid. I like this part because he was yelling in to the sky.
My mom would like this book. My mom would like this book because she likes to read story about mice.

The title of the story is My Teacher Ate my Homework by Dan Greenburg.
The story takes place in the classroom. The main characters are Zack, his dad, and his friend Spencer.
The story is about a teacher that is a werewolf. Zack and his friend Spencer went to their teacher’s house. When they got there, they asked their teacher if they can get garlic and a net so they could catch the werewolf. When they caught the werewolf, it would turn back into a teacher and they would finally prove that their teacher is a werewolf.
The part I liked best was when the teacher turned back into a werewolf.
My little cousin would like this book because she is a fan of werewolves. I know this because every time she sees a dog she calls it a werewolf.

Author: Gloria Skurzynski
This story took place in Alaska. The main characters are Jack, Ashley, and Nicky. This story is about two kids who had to move from their old house because Nicky came into their life. When they came to Alaska they found two dead Wolverines bodies. One day Nicky, Jack, Ashley and their parents went on a plane.
When they got off the plane a man named Chaz was going to take the three kids on a little ride. When they went on the dog sled the kids figured out that Chaz is a killer. Then an avalanche hit. At the end they all went back home.
I liked when the avalanche hit. I think my stepbrother Calvin would like this book because he likes action books.

This story took place in Watertown, New York. The main characters are Zack and the dinosaur egg.
It’s about a boy named Zack. He earns money for working and he goes to a shop. He wants to know what kind of egg it is. The old man told him that it is a dinosaur egg.
My favorite part is when Zack put the egg in the microwave and the egg broke.
My nephew would like this book. He would like this book because he likes things that have to do with dinosaurs
The title of this book is The Missing Mitten Mystery by Steven Kellogg.
This story takes place in the back yard. The main characters are the dog and the little girl. This book is about the little girl loosing her mitten. She can’t find her mitten anywhere .The little girl found all her friend’s things like shoes, socks, and hats, but she still can’t find her mitten. When she went in her house to drink some hot cocoa, she looked out the window and she saw a red heart on the snowman. On closer looking she came to find out that it was her mitten and she was very excited that she started jumping up and down. I liked the part when she found everything else but her mitten. My baby cousin would like this book because she likes the winter. Also, she likes to play in the snow and her birthday is in the winter so she likes the winter. She loves snowmen so she would love to play in the snow. In addition, she always loves to go in the house and drink some hot cocoa.

The title of this book is The Spray – Paint Mystery by Angela Shelf Medearis.
This story takes place outside of a public school. The main characters of this story are Cameron, Tarran, Miguel, Nicky and Oscar.
This book is about Cameron and Tarran solving a case trying to figure out why and who has been spray painting graffiti on school property. He thinks it could be Miguel, the new kid, or Nicky who paints sceneries for school plays. Now Cameron has a chance to prove he is a great detective.
The part I liked best is when Tarran and Cameron went to Welberts Super Store to spy on who was buying the spray paint to make graffiti on the walls of the school.
I would recommend this to Lasha because she has the same character traits as Tarran.

“This Body’s Not Big Enough for Both Of Us”
Dan Greenburg
This story takes place in New York City, and in Zack’s dream.
The main characters are Zack & a spirit w/ her cat.
In this story Zack fell asleep and in his dream he imagines that a spirit comes out of his body.
My favorite part is when the spirit came out of Zack's body and said, “This body’s not big enough for the both of us”.
My god mother would like this book because she likes books about spirits.

Orp And The FBI by Suzy Kline
This story has many settings: outside in a tent, in a bathroom at Derrick’s house and in the attic. The main characters are Derrick, Boston Bull, Clhoe and Orp.
This story is mostly about Orp and her group called the FBI. FBI means Famous Bathtub Investigators. In one story Boston Bull escapes from jail and Orp and Derrick try to find him. The part I like best is when Orp and Derrick had an office in the bathroom. Derrick and Orp named Chloe scheetheart. Scheetheart ran out to the tent.
The persons I think would like this is Wil-quan and Tireek. The reason why Wil-quan and Tireek would like this book is because they both like books with people who tries to catch other people.

Title of this book: Nate the Great and the Lost List
Author: Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
This book took place in Nate’s town. The main characters are Nate, Sludge, Claude, and Rosamond.
This book is about Nate trying to find Claude’s groceries list. So Nate and Sludge take in clues. They have two suspects. But they find out that Rosamond had it. Rosamond thought it was a cat pancake ingredient. So she gave it back to Nate and Nate gave it to Claude.
My best part of the book is when Nate ate a cat pancake.
My brother would like this book because he likes Nate the Great’s books!!

The title of this book is called All Because of a Cup of Coffee. The author is Geronimo Stilton. This story takes place outside in the summer. The main characters are Benjamin Stilton and Geronimo Stilton. This story is about a boy mouse that likes a girl mouse. But she doesn’t like him. It’s also about the boy mouse trying to take the girl mouse to the restaurant. They were fighting over a cup of coffee.
The part I liked was when the boy mouse liked the girl mouse and she didn’t like him.
My sister would like this book because it’s about summer.

It takes place on a boat ride. Cam is a girl that likes to solve mysteries. Treasure is a dog that got loose on a boat ride.
A woman’s dog is gone, and she thinks someone stole it. They went to tell the boat captain. The man who stole the dog came on the boat and the woman said he stole my dog.
I liked the part when they solved the mystery.
People that like mysteries would like this book because it is good and you can learn from it and because you can solve mysteries too.

The Adventures of a Two Minute Were-Wolf by Gene DeWeese.
The story takes place at school. The two main characters are Cindy and Walt Cribbens. He is the were-wolf of this whole story.
The book is about 12 stories long. The two I like is “I‘m Just a Were-wolf, Not Spider-man” and “Mr. Cribbens, I presume.” The second one was about a man who was acting suspicious. The were-wolf couldn’t seem to find out who this strange man was. At the end of this chapter, he found out who it was. It was his next door neighbor.
The best part I like is when the bully tried to beat up the were-wolf in the story called “Maybe Your Folks Found You in a Field, Like Clark Kent.”
My three best friends would like this because it has lots of chapters and every chapter was interesting when I read it.
